Kentucky Christian struck soon after, taking a 1-0 lead. Once again the momentum level of the Bulldogs and the hope of the crowd and student body seemed to drop even lower. So much, that the Knights were able to score again in less than two minutes to go up 2-0 midway through the first half. The crowd was silent as the score remained 2-0 at the half.
Adjustments were made during the half, but the Bulldogs managed to allow another ball to enter their goal. This time off their own player. Midway through the second half, KCU was granted a corner kick. The Knights sent the ball towards Bulldogs Goalkeeper, Chad Hunter, who had the ball go over his head and turned to see it bounce off his own players thigh and travel into the back of the goal. The Knights would win 3-0, two goals which never should have happened had players simply remained focused.
The Bulldogs drop to 3-3 on the season and 2-1 in the conference. The Knights improve to 6-2 on the season and 4-0 in the conference. The Bulldogs will meet the Knights again on October 26th at KCU. The Bulldogs next opponent is Spalding University, which they will host on Monday, September 21st at Champions Park in a non-league match.
