The East End Warriors Mighty-Mite team opened up the season vs the Hikes Point Lobos with a 65-yard touchdown run on the very first play of the game. However, what looked like it was going to be a very easy day for the Warriors ended up having a few challenges. The Warriors found themselves in fourth-down and long situations far too often, and penalties were helping the Lobos stay in the game. The Warriors only led 6-0 at the end of the first quarter and were just able to get the ball into the end-zone again before the half, with :28 left on the clock.
In the end, the scoreboard spoke for itself as the Warriors won 26-0 over the Hikes Point Lobos, gaining complete focus in the second half of play. The Warriors (1-0) will play the J-Town Bulldogs (0-1) at home next week. The Bulldogs fell to the Louisville Jaguars 0-6 on Saturday, August 8th. The Lobos (0-1) will face their rivals, the Louisville Patriots (1-0) who shutout the Fern Creek Tigers 14-0 in their season opener.
