After falling to Kentucky by the score of 4-7 in the second game of the 2018 Cardinal Classic, the Ohio Bobcats Men's Lacrosse team was able to beat Xavier 9-1 and advance to the Championship Game for a rematch with Kentucky for the cup.
After opening up the game with an impressive 6-0 lead, the Bobcats were simply dominating the Wildcats. Kentucky's morale was extremely low, with players not getting very excited to see the scoreboard finally read 6-1.
However, the morale grew for the Wildcats as they were able to score 3 more goals in the latter half of the first half, while only giving up one additional goal, bringing the score to 7-4 at the half, in favor of the Bobcats.
The Bobcat defense would allow only one goal the entire second half...
...and while the Wildcats defense would only allow one goal in the second half as well, it came at a time to where Kentucky would be put in a hole that they simply would not be able to dig themselves out of.
