UofL Men's Lacrosse Downs Purdue 9-7

On February 25th, 2018, the 0-3 Purdue Boilermakers traveled to Louisville, Kentucky to take on the 2-0 Louisville Cardinals.  Even though they were 0-3, the Boilermakers had lost all three games by only 1 point.

Just :30 in, the Cards were up 1-0!

However, the lead would be short-lived as the Cards would struggle to find the net, and would find themselves trailing 2-3 after the 1st quarter.

Penalties would put a damper on the Cards spirits as again, they would struggle to only score 2 goals in the 2nd quarter.

Trading goals (and punches) in the 3rd quarter, it was looking like the game was going to come down to the last goal scored...

...until #23 Ryan McCauley hit back-to-back goals from long range with 3:15 remaining in the 3rd. This put the Cards up 8-5 with 18:15 to play.

The Cards were able to add one more in the 4th while holding the Boilermakers to only two more goals.

The #9 (NCLL DII) Louisville Cardinals had upset the Purdue Boilermakers by the score of 9-7 in a win that would help propel them to #4, their highest ranking in program history.

#4 Louisville (3-1) takes on rival Kentucky in Lexington on Sunday, March 4th at 2pm
