Main Street Train - LaGrange, Kentucky

9:56 AM

In LaGrange, Kentucky there is a railroad track right down the middle of Main Street (a.k.a. street running).  As a train approaches, vehicles park along the side of the street or turn onto a side road as the train consumes one of the LaGrange's busiest streets.

The train almost always enters the city at a slow speed to allow motorists and pedestrians time to clear the street.

As traffic comes to a stop and the street clears, the train increases speed to clear the city in a timely manner.

By the time the 50th-60th car of the train enters the city, the train has reached its full inner city speed, and it seems like towering semi trailers are flying by you at an alarming rate compared to the speed the train entered the city at.

After over 100 cars pass in the middle of Main Street, just feet from us, the train exits the city in route to its next destination.  It was an awesome experiense.
