Abandoned Silver Creek Railroad Bridge

Over Silver Creek in New Albany, Indiana, rests a pair of abandoned railroad bridges.  The bridge we will be primarily focusing on is the abandoned Pennsylvania Railroad bridge.

The bridge was constructed in the mid-1800's and was used well into the 1950's.  Records indicated that the last CSX train to cross over this bridge was in 2001 and that the rails were officially removed and scrapped in 2004.

Model, Peyton was nice enough to sit on the edge of the bridge for us, overlooking the rushing waters below.

The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad bridge that rests just yards from this bridge is much safer and pedestrian friendly.
