Boyce College Lady Bulldogs

History was made today, as #5 Caroline Dye and the Boyce College Lady Bulldogs took the court for the very first time.

Fans were out in full force for the Lady Bulldogs as they took the court vs St. Mary of the Woods College (Indiana).  Not the largest crowd in Boyce College athletics history, but surely one of the loudest.  Every single time the Lady Bulldogs got the ball over the net and onto the St. Mary of the Woods side, the fans erupted!

The Boyce College Lady Bulldogs were able to score first in the very first set.  Not only giving them their very first point and their very first lead but increasing everybody's hopes that this team was for real!

Despite coming out strong, the Lady Bulldogs would fall short in the first set by the score of 19-25.  It really wasn't until the second set that the Lady Bulldogs came alive!

#10 Kendra Mahan stood out as the star of the second set, making numerous plays on offense and defense.

Mahan was assisted numerous times by Freshmen standout, #15 Sarah Turner.  Sarah officially committed to Boyce College back in late June, and has been nothing but a solid impact to the team at all positions on the court.

The Lady Bulldogs celebrated after set two and a 25-22 victory over the Lady Pomeroys.  A match that was a battle all the way to the 22-22 score, when #4 Alyssa Brown lifted the Lady Bulldogs over the Lady Pomeroys with her great serves.

The rest of the day vs the Lady Pomeroys was anything but easy for the Lady Bulldogs, but definitely was eventful.  The Lady Bulldogs fell 23-25 in the third set, and then just simply ran out of gas in the fourth set, failing to reach the 17 point mark, losing 16-25.

#10 Kendra Mahan reacts after the Lady Bulldogs fall 3-1 to St. Mary of the Woods (Indiana).  The Lady Bulldogs have much to work on, but walk away from their first match in school history with much to hold their heads high about.  Leadership is clearly present in multiple ladies on the team, and will lift the Lady Bulldogs above the standard that many college inaugural seasons hold.

Here's what else we captured today:
